Ricki and a team of 3 horses left home on Febraury 11th 2013 heading south to the CSI3* Sunshine Tour in the south of Spain. The journey takes 4 days with two overnight stops in France and one Madrid before the final drive to Vejer de la Frontera. The tour runs 5 weeks of jumping and allows the horses to begin their outdoor season early and gain valuable experience in the grass arenas ready for the rest of the outdoor season ahead.
Wellinton IV, Gwenn and Bengtsson had some fabulous results with Bengtsson producing some of his usual foot perfect clear rounds in the 7 year old age classes and picking up numerous placings as his reward; Wellinton IV made a gradual rise throughout the show starting in the 1.40m classes and building up to the 1.50m World Ranking classes and proving that he is a real star for the future with some amazing clears and placings. Gwenn again didn’t fail to impress with great clears in the 1.35 and 1.40m classes and a super fast clear round on the final weekend giving her a 1st place in the GP tour 1 class. A great result for all!!
The show has been a fantastic starting block for the season ahead with all horses making a positive move in the right direction and we are looking forward to the busy competition schedule ahead!
