Wellinton IV and Bengtsson travelled to the Canteleu France to compete in the CSI3* competition from the 27th – 30th June. Bengtsson jumped in the 7 year old competition which was 1.35m/140m every day and jumped a lovely double clear on the first day and placing joint first, and again producing another double clear in his class on the second day and placing 6th. He lowered just one rail in his class on the final day but had a fantastic show and we are really pleased with his progress. Wellinton IV moved up to the 1.50m/1.55m classes and proved he is a star lowering just one rail in the GP qualifier but jumping great and securing his position in Sundays Grand Prix. The Grand Prix track was Wellintons biggest test to date being built at 1.60m and technical with the time allowed pretty tight, but he rose to the occasion and in front of a packed arena jumped a beautiful clear round inside the time!
Only nine riders out of the 60 jumped moved forward to the jump off, the height of the fences was increased and Ricki and Wellinton were drawn 3rd to go. Again Wellinton jumped amazing and gave us another clear round!!! He finished with a 7th placing and showed us that he really is a star in the making, to go into his first CSI3* Grand Prix and jump double clear is a great achievement for him! A fantastic show for all!
